Making Promotional Fit Lifestyle

Comfort is important in today’s casual world; three-piece suits are no longer a requirement in the office and employees take full advantage of the fact that business dress code has become more lax. Corporate to casual attire requires a professional refinement, while still meeting the active lifestyle of employees outside of the office. Business casual attire should be able to float between the office, the golf course, the restaurant, or a weekend getaway without the individual feeling like they are wearing “business” clothes. Here are some ways to bring casual to business through apparel.

Lifestyle Brands
Maintaining the business casual environment is easy when corporate promotional apparel is made from lifestyle brands, such as Nike; allowing the apparel to easily transfer from in office to out-of-office. Providing brands that people want to wear will increase the likelihood that promotional apparel will be worn elsewhere.

Material
No one likes the feeling of wearing a uniform to work so scratch the itchy fabrics, and opt for soft fleece, or dri-fit material. Dri-fit technology is designed to be cool and breathable, while absorbing the moisture from the body. Dri-fit is great for a company promoting a business casual workplace as well as a healthy, active lifestyle in extracurricular activities.

Color
Don’t limit color options. A plethora of colors diminishes monotony of business casual attire, allowing for ease of flow from the workplace.

Business apparel does not have to be stuffy, however it should be polished. That is where American Promotional Apparel comes in. With top brands, comfortable materials and a wide range of color options, it is easy to take corporate promotional attire from corporate to casual. Whether on the green, in the office, or on the sales floor, American Promotional Apparel has everything your company needs for useable corporate promotional apparel.

Office Holiday Party Planning Tips

With the holiday season right around the corner, businesses are hosting parties to relax, celebrate, and show gratitude. Office holiday parties can be fun, but with a list of questions ranging from location to food and entertainment, planning it can be stressful. Here are some helpful office party planning tips to inspire you this year!

Eat it Up
If you are hosting a party in the office, consider a potluck dinner, or catered food from the office’s favorite restaurant. Take it a step further by bringing in food trucks. Food trucks are very popular right now and not limited to taste. With food trucks ranging from tacos to gourmet-style meals, it is a great way to support local businesses.

Did Somebody say Ugly Holiday Sweater Party?
Do you remember that sweater your aunt gave you years ago for Christmas. You know, the one that is so heinous the thrift store did not even want it? Pull it out of the box, dust it off, and throw it on! Ugly, or tacky, holiday sweater parties not only provide a great laugh to all of the attendees, but are a great way to remind everyone that, while it is an office party, it can still be fun!

Take it a step further by having attendees make their own ugly sweaters, or host a contest with prizes for tackiest sweater, most holiday spirit, strangest saying on the sweater, etc. This will incentivize everyone to participate! By providing the sweaters for the partygoers, it is less expense on them, and more fun for all.

Party for a Reason Other than the Season
The holiday season is also coined the season of giving. By including a charity fundraiser or raffle, participants have the opportunity to donate to a cause.

Take it a step further: Survey partygoers to determine the charity. This will make them feel more involved in the decision making process and more likely to purchase additional raffle tickets.

Attire
If you are hosting a party outside of the confines of the office, but are not hosting a costume party, make the attire something comfortable. Casual attire will help the team relax and to truly enjoy the evening.

Pump the Jams
Don’t rely on Christmas music as background noise. Have a cover band come in to play some great 80’s and 90’s pop music, or hire a DJ to liven up the mood of the party. Remember, just because it is an office holiday party, does not mean it should be boring.

White Elephant Gift Exchange
A White Elephant Gift Exchange is a simple concept: Everyone brings a present, draws a number, and then picks a gift from the pile. This takes the pressure off of buying gifts for everyone, and ensures that everyone gets a gift. Putting a gift price cap on the gift exchange takes away the stress or obligation to get something over-the-top. Here are some great, inexpensive office holiday party gift ideas.

Take it a step further: Each person has the opportunity to pick from the pile, or “steal” a gift that has already been opened. A present can only be “stolen” once.

For raffles, white elephant and other party activities, you are going to need supplies, so stock up on promotional pens and necessities!
Office holiday parties should be fun, and planning one should not be the holiday nightmare. What office holiday party tips would you add to the list?

What is Screen Printed Apparel?

If you’re in the market for custom apparel you’ve come to the right place. First, did you know there are multiple ways to order custom apparel? Some of those options include contract embroidery, direct to garment, digitizing and screen printing. With all of these choices it can be confusing when you’re trying to decide which way to go. So, today we’re going to discuss what screen printing is and how the process works.

What is screen printing? During the screen printing process, ink is forced through a one-of-a-kind custom
screen pattern designed for you. It is then placed over the fabric and ink is pressed through the screen design to create the desired image.

What are the benefits of screen printing? Screen printing is a permanent, smooth to the touch design that won’t crack or crumble. Your shirt will surely stay intact wash after wash without fading.

At APP we have the expertise and manpower to accommodate virtually any size order you have, no matter how large. Whether you’re looking for custom tees for a softball team or custom shirts for a corporate event, we've got you covered.

Benefits of Apparel Made in the USA

Buying American made clothing sounds like a good idea, right? We think so too, but more than likely the shirt you’re wearing right now was made in another country. According to an ABC News article, “98 percent of the clothing purchased in the United States is imported from abroad. Just two percent of clothing bought in this country is manufactured on U.S. soil.” At American Promotional Products, we are proud to provide a variety of American made apparel and products. The truth is there are many reasons why you should buy products made in the great U.S. of A! Here are four reasons why you should be buying merchandise made in America:

  1.  Build America’s economy. Buying American made products creates new jobs locally, rather than
creating them overseas. Supporting our local economy also strengthens the belief we were founded on: American independence.
  2.  Foreign labor laws. Labor laws have different standards than the United States. When you buy ‘made in America’ products, you are supporting safe working conditions, child labor laws, environmental restrictions and minimum wage requirements.
  3. Better quality. Didn’t your parents always tell you that you get what you pay for? In this case, and most cases - it is usually true!
  4. Protect our planet. American manufacturing processes are often more environmentally conscious. When products are made locally instead of abroad they are more sustainable, because they don’t have to travel as far to get to your door.

Do you have an American made product or piece of clothing? Snap a photo and share it with us on our Facebook page and we’ll share our favorite.

Why Your Company Needs Branded Apparel

Does your shirt do more than make you look good? If the answer is no, maybe it’s time to think about what custom branded apparel can do for your business. Stop for a minute and imagine the number of people your employees see in a day - customers, neighbors, friends, potential customers, acquaintances, and even the lady at the coffee shop. That’s a lot of face time, and potentially brand awareness time for your business. Instead of promoting that Nike logo, get your own company logo out there with custom apparel!
Here are a few of our favorite reasons why we recommend branded apparel:

·         Manage the dress code. Maintain a professional working environment by providing appropriate work
attire for your employees. A company uniform keeps employee’s focus on their job responsibilities and not on out of office drama.

·        All for one, one for all! When a group of people wear the same shirt it encourages a sense of community and friendship. Build team morale within your office while bringing equality to your work place with custom branded apparel.

·         Make it fun. Switch it up each season with new designs, styles, colors and prints to allow your employees personality to shine through. Whether you’re looking for solid polos, tie-dye or a simple crewneck tee, custom apparel depends on your company image and employees.
Did we convince you? Take the advertising bull by the horns this year by putting your employees in stylish branded apparel. You’ll know it’s working when you get your first lead from someone who saw your employee rocking a company tee at the local coffee shop down the street.

Do you currently offer branded apparel for your employees, if your answer is no, why not?

There are incredible benefits to getting children involved in organized sports. According to the report Playing Well: Organized Sports and the Health of Children and Youth, written by Ann
Rosewater, participation in organized activities, including sports, is associated with greater emotional adjustment. Children and teens who engage regularly in organized sports tend to feel more skilled, capable and confident than their peers who do not participate. Through participation in sports they learn team building skills, organization skills and better ways to communicate amongst peers and authority figures. They also are able to understand the direct link between hard work and success and the value of setting goals.

Getting involved with organized sports can also be a great way for you as a parent to better connect with your child. Although it may involve devoting a lot of time to attending games and giving rides to and from practices the value of communicating consistently with your child and understanding their daily frustrations is invaluable. To find out more about getting your child involved in organized sports, contact the athletic department at your child’s school or research your local community centers for more information.

If you are thinking about having your child join a team or if they are already a part of one, show your team spirit and be a cut above the rest with customized athletic apparel from American Promotional Products.  Your team is guaranteed to get attention with stylish customized athletic apparel.

3 Reasons to Go Green with Eco-Friendly Clothing

We know eco-friendly clothing is good for the environment, but what are the specific benefits? Outlined below you will learn what eco-friendly clothing is and why it’s important

First, what is eco-friendly or sustainably made clothing? In order to answer this question, let’s step back and understand the normal production of clothing. According to Earth Pledge, a non-profit organization committed to promoting and supporting sustainable development, "At least 8,000 chemicals are used to turn raw materials into textiles and 25% of the world's pesticides are used to grow non-organic cotton. This causes irreversible damage to people and the environment, and still two thirds of a garment's carbon footprint will occur after it is purchased."

So, what is sustainable apparel and why is it important? Much like organic produce, sustainable apparel is created without pesticides, harmful chemicals or bleach. Fabrics are often made from recycled or reused textiles or even plastic bottles. Additionally, sustainably made clothing comes with fair trade, which means the people making them are paid a fair price with decent working conditions.

In addition to environmental impacts and fair trade, sustainable apparel is better for your health. Harsh chemicals in traditional cotton can cause irritation and skin reactions. Our District Threads 100% organic cotton perfect weight tee is made from ultra-soft 100% certified organic cotton which is grown without harsh chemicals. It’s the perfect blend of lived-in softness and eco-friendliness.

What are your favorite sustainable brands?

Custom Clothing Affects Consumer Psychology

According to recent studies, it has been proven that clothing can have an unconscious impact on consumer behavior. * For example, a logoed tee may have a big impact on whether a consumer chooses to buy it or not. Name brands like Nike and Port Authority with a consumer to exhibit behaviors that are consistent with the brands image. Do you know what branded clothing is hanging in your corporate store?
The right corporate apparel may influence how your audience interacts with your brand, whether it be an
employee or a consumer.

Here are a few ways to market your company apparel.

  •         Use trusted brands to build your company reputation by association. If your employees are active, showcase Nike products in your corporate store, if they’re young professionals offer Cutter and Buck Polo’s.
  •      Pay attention to the power of color. For example, blue is a calming color that puts consumers at ease making them feel comfortable. For companies offering customized products, the color blue provides reassurance and may inspire loyalty and trustworthiness.
  •     Choose a reliable embroidery service. At APP we have over 25 years of experience and offer excellent products with over 500,000 ad specialty items, screen printing services and art /digitizing capabilities.
  •     Learn more how you can speak to your audience through custom apparel at http://www.app-co-shopping.com.

Ways To Customize Your Brand

With so much competition in today’s market how do you keep your audience interested? We’ve come up with a few simple ways to stay current while keeping your audience engaged.

Use social media to showcase your brand and reputation. Post pictures of employees, internal accomplishments and company events on your social pages. This will provide a human element to your brand that fans and followers will relate to. Ultimately, the more people talking about your brand, the better!

Gather the resources to start and maintain a blog. Generate weekly content to establish your brand as a thought leader in the industry. An updated blog will increase traffic to your website and increase your rank in search engines. Fresh, interesting content is also a great way to keep your audience curious and coming back for more.

Finally, don’t forget that everyone wants something unique. Why not stand out from the rest with custom logoed apparel? Let your employees, fans, and customers do the promoting for you with company branded shirts, coffee mugs and USB drives.

It’s so easy to get lost in all the noise if you aren’t keeping your audience engaged. The average attention span is shrinking each year, which is why  it’s so important to stand out from the competition.

How are you staying top of mind with your audience?

Spring Cleaning - Freshen Up Your Business In 3 Ways Flat

It is hard to believe that spring is right around the corner. For our team at APP, spring time is about cleaning out the old to make room for the new. For your retail store it also means starting fresh with new products, and inventory. Every store undergoes seasonal changes throughout the year, and spring is no exception.

In retail you can do this by introducing new products to boost sales, provide custom clothing options, or offer additional services to meet your market demands. Here are our top three spring cleaning tips for any business:

Clean out old paperwork. Step into 2013, it’s time to organize accounting documents, receipts, and other paperwork digitally. Update your business cards. Customized business cards are an excellent way to keep your name and the name of your company in the minds of your customers. Make sure your custom business cards are concise, professional and up to date to ensure you leave the right impression.
