5 Tips for First Day of School Success

Whether you’re preparing for your freshman year of college or a parent getting your 5th grader off to elementary school, it can be a stressful time of year for everyone. End of summer is always a great time to re-organize and prepare for the upcoming school year.

Here are our top 5 tips for first day of school success:

1. Pack light, a backpack should never weigh more than 10 to 20 percent of the student’s body weight.

2. Plan and shop for healthy breakfasts and lunches a week in advance. This will save you precious time and prevent stress in the morning.

3. Support positive study habits early by creating a homework center at home where your child can go to study. Make sure that it’s in a quiet place and stocked with enough supplies.

4. Save time on those busy school mornings by preparing outfits ahead of time, at least the night before. Visit (www.app-co.com) for wrinkle free gear great for students.

5. Find time to have dinner together. During dinner, make sure everyone has a chance to share the highlights of their day and how they may do things differently tomorrow.

Hope these tips helped you in preparing for school this year!
