Have A Haunting Halloween Week

Looking for fun ways to spice up a dull office this Halloween? The holidays can be the perfect time to build company morale, liven up your cubicle, and get to know your co-workers. Here are a few ideas on how to inject some frighteningly fun events into the workplace.

1.       Cubicle decorating contest.  Provide employees with a specific set of items, including paper, markers, streamers and tape. The winner with the most creative cubical décor wins a gift such as a Leather Wrapped Tumbler Gift Set.

2.       Pumpkin carving contest. Provide pumpkins and tools to those who entered. Give contestants 1 hour to complete and turn in their finished pumpkin project. The winning pumpkin can be showcased at the front of the office for the month, announced on the company Facebook and Twitter page, and awarded free pumpkin spiced lattes for the week.

3.      Halloween themed lunch.  Tell employees to come in costume for the day. Plan a spooky themed lunch menu including items such as, marinated mozzarella eyeballs with olive irises, mummified cheesy pasta, or an 8 legged spider cheese ball. This can be a great way to let loose, and get to know your employees and co-workers in a fun spirited environment.

Promote Fitness and Teamwork by Creating a Co-Ed Company Sports Team

It’s important to build relationships with coworkers and relationship development can be done in many ways. Company sports teams can offer many advantages to both the employees and to the company, including healthier employees, while building teamwork across departments. These teams can be for a team sport like softball or bowling, or for individual competitions, like triathlons or 5-K races. You can also create non-competitive teams like walking clubs or general running teams. As you train and learn your sport together, you will create new personal bonds. These bonds will spill over into the work environment and help employees to work as a team at work, as well.

Having healthy employees positively impacts a company's bottom line. Companies that have employees that smoke, that are overweight or that are out of condition have higher rates of absenteeism and turnover than companies than those who have healthier employees. An estimated $270 billion is spent annually on treating tobacco use and related diseases, adult-onset diabetes and obesity, conditions that are preventable, according to WELCOA, or the Wellness Council of America.

How do you get started? First, poll your coworkers about their interest. Talk to everyone so you understand the overall interest in forming a team and in what capacity. You’ll have to bring up the idea with management, emphasizing that a company sponsored team is a good way to build relationships and morale. You will be able to let them know others are also interested and maybe, even get some funding.

Then get out there! Play ball! Run fast! It’s Spring, so get outside and take advantage of the weather.

Branded Apparel Brings Sense of Quality To Your Company

Have you ever been asked, “Can you help me find something?” or “Do you work here?” and wasn’t sure why? It was most likely because you just happened to be wearing the same colored shirt as the employees that work at that store. Customers in that store associated that color shirt with that store.

You can have this same visual recognition at your workplace simply by branding the apparel that your employees wear. You can identify your staff with various clothing elements, the most common of which is color, or style or even brand of apparel and of course your custom company logo.

Branded company apparel brings a sense of quality to your company name and image. It shows that you took the time to present your company with a manner of pride and if you hold your employees and company to a high standard of quality you will certainly express a high level of quality to your customers.

Custom logo embroidered apparel also promotes teamwork, morale and loyalty. Teamwork promotes a more open line of communication among co-workers and across all lines leading down to the customer. Employees that build a sense of pride with their company will surely
work harder for it and continue to produce the quality work that you expect. Loyalty of your co-workers, customers and clients means everything to building your business today.

Lastly, corporate apparel is a direct form of advertising that not only is visual, but it is “attached” to a knowledgeable and valid source of information about the company. Your employees can be one of your greatest assets to your advertising campaign. The ability to network these days reaches far beyond the imaginable scope.

The real question is not why should you get company apparel, but why you are not wearing any
now!?
